CONCEPT

The brand name "SLOW" reflects a commitment to craftsmanship that resists the fast-paced trends of the times, focusing instead on a deliberate, thoughtful approach to creation.

Guided by the philosophy of "creating items we ourselves would want to own," we craft products that grow richer in character with use—objects that can be cherished over time.

Utilizing the expertise of Japanese artisans, we strive to make items that last.

Inspired by traditional styles from Western countries like the UK, France, and the US, we constantly reflect on the idea that "new value in tradition arises through high-quality innovation.

" With this in mind, we aim to present items that, while casual, carry an air of refinement.

FACTORY

Take pleasure in the slow, enduring changes in expression that emerge over time.

Within each piece lies the ingenuity and dedication honed by skilled artisans through daily practice.

Variations in color and texture, differences from the leather tanning process, the unique touch of each craftsman, and the influence of the environment at each moment—all these subtle distinctions accumulate to shape the character of every individual product.

Until the product is completed

01 – Leather Selection and Cutting

Before starting leather crafting, we carefully select high-quality leather from a variety of cowhides to use in our products. At this stage, we sort through the natural textures and individual differences unique to each hide. Then, using templates, we cut the leather precisely to form the parts of each product according to their shapes.

02 – Leather Skiving

After cutting the leather into parts, the leather skiving process is carried out to adjust the thickness of the raw leather to the appropriate level according to each part. By "skiving the leather," the product becomes lighter, easier to work with, and results in a much cleaner finish during sewing.

03 - Sewing

Once the assembly of the parts is complete, the process moves on to sewing. The complexity of sewing increases with the number of parts and the product's structure. This stage, requiring the highest level of skill, is entrusted to seasoned artisans with advanced expertise within the factory. These skilled craftsmen bring meticulous attention to detail, creating each product with great care.

04 – Edge Polishing

The edge of a cut piece of leather is called the "edge". For certain bags or small items, the edge is left exposed, a style known as "cut-edge construction," where the edge itself is embraced as part of the design. However, leaving the edge untreated can lead to issues like fraying, cracking, or darkening, which can diminish the appearance of the bag or item. To prevent this, it's essential to protect and enhance the edge with a finishing process. One common method for this is "edge painting.

05 – And Then to the Product

Most of the production process is done by hand, with meticulous care. The time invested results in a beautiful, natural finish, significantly enhancing the product’s quality.
